After contracting shingles, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg held a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, with whom he will meet in Berlin, the capital of Germany, via video conference. "Prime Minister Scholz and NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg exchanged views on the preparations for the NATO Summit to be held on 29-30 June," the Government Spokesperson Steffen Hebestreit said in a statement about the meeting. Referring to the Russia-Ukraine war at the meeting, Scholz stated that the government will continue to contribute to NATO, and that the NATO alliance should show its determination in the face of Russia's aggression.

UNITY SIGNAL AGAINST RUSSIA

During the meeting, issues such as updating the strategic concept of the alliance, carrying out necessary work as a result of Russia's aggression against Ukraine and implementing the "NATO 2030" agenda were discussed. At the meeting, it was agreed that the alliance should send a signal of determination and unity against Russia, and it was also agreed that NATO's main mission, the protection of the Euro-Atlantic region, should be able to continue to fulfill this mission reliably and successfully within 10 years.
