John Dallaire has been working full-time as a free-lance illustrator since 1997. However, his first paid and published work came in 1990 while he was in the US Navy stationed in Scotland. This "Single Page" in an early issue of the independent comic book, Cerebus Bi-Weekly led to him creating promotional posters for the RAF Edzell Little Theater Group (in which he performed), promotional fliers for "Alternative Night" at the base club (at which he DJ'd), and several covers for the base newsletter. John returned to the US from overseas during the Holiday season of 1991. Immediately, he began making a living painting Holiday scenes on storefront windows. While painting a scene at a local restaurant, he was offered a job by a local screenprint facility. Beginning as a press operator, he soon moved in to the art room, and shortly after that became General Manager.
