Network Engineer / Linux Administration

Network engineer specializing in wireless and security.   Bash / Python scripting and automation.  API scripting and integration.  Linux   Red Hat and Windows Server Admin.

• Experience designing and implementing Next Gen wireless solutions
• SDN Experience implementing CVP network automation tool on an enterprise scale from the ground up, and using CVP to configure network devices,
• Experience configuring, deploying, troubleshooting Aruba 535’s, 324’s, 325’s, 224’s, 225’s, 134’s and 135 WAPs,
• Experience configuring, deploying, troubleshooting Arista C260s and C360 WAPs,
• Experience configuring, deploying, troubleshooting Mist (Juniper) WAPs,
• Experience migrating Google enterprise wireless networks from various Aruba and Mist (juniper) model APs, to Arista C260s and C360 Amazon Cloud Service (AWS),
• Developed company-wide imaging automation script (python) for pxe-boot imaging process for Surface Pro 6’s, which now saves BioMarin thousands of dollars per year, and streamlines / simplifies our Surface Pro 6 imaging process,
• Experience configuring and deploying Firepower ASA 1000 series Remote Access firewalls,
• Experience configuring and deploying Firepower ASA 1000 series Site to Site firewalls,
• Experience configuring/implementing VPNs, IpSec, and GRE over IpSec, and best case uses for leveraging each technology,
• Experience designing OSPF architecture for global WAN,
• Experience designing new OTV edge architecture for enterprise site to site locations, and lead the migration from legacy OTV connections to new solution,
• Experience with ip subnetting for a contiguous network, on an enterprise scale,
• In depth knowledge and extensive experience with using Solar Winds and similar network management tools,
• Experience coordinating with top global vendors (such as Amazon Web Services, Evertz, and ESPN), to meet network requirements and needs, with regard to anything from S2S VPN management (for leading maintenance of, and migrations for, existing S2S VPNs, as well as the creation of new S2S VPNs) to spine and leaf migrations off of legacy 3 layer core architecture,
• Experience analyzing global networks to identify possible security and performance threats, in order to meet MSB’s (minimum security baselines) and to optimize performance,
• Experience with device hardening, implementing data plane and control plane security measures, and implementing network configuration changes as per minimum security baseline standards,
• Developed Bash scripts to automate system monitoring reports, to check for patches/updates and to perform differential backups for Linux Red Hat environments,
• Linux administration (file system mounting / unmounting in preparation for change requests, system maintenance tasks involving application / software updates, security patches, differential backups, generating system reports, user / file / directory permissions management, file system repair, system hardening, RAID 5 configuration and management, network monitoring for IOC’s) via ServiceNow ticketing systems,
