I specialize in online magazine and newspaper articles, how-to's, features, breaking news, investigative non-fiction reporting and news briefs. In addition to writing for large print and web publications, I also write personal essays, blog posts, resumes and cover letters and non-fiction portrayals. Generally speaking, I use AP Style as my writing guide, but I am also proficient in Chicago Manual of Style, APA and MLA. I am a born writer – not only do I have a knack for generating one-of-a-kind work, but I very much enjoy the research component that is involved in accurate and thorough writing as well. I take a conversational approach when conducting interviews to make the interviewee feel more at ease thus resulting in a piece with more depth. I believe research is key both before and after an interview – the more informed I am as a writer, the more informed the audience. As a student, a writer and a professional, I always welcome a challenge or a puzzle, whether in school assignments or on the job, and I explore each option until I find the best solution. That said, I am also unafraid to ask questions and seek help from coworkers, classmates, professors or editors.
