New York Attorney General Letitia James filed a civil lawsuit Wednesday against former President Donald Trump, three of his children, and Trump Organization executives, accusing them of falsely inflating his net worth by billions of dollars for economic gain.
The 222-page lawsuit, filed in New York state court, said Trump used the inflated valuations “to unjustly enrich himself and cheat the system” to obtain loans and insurance at more favorable terms, to satisfy loan covenants, and to obtain tax benefits. It is seeking the recovery of $250 million.
