The Senate of Poland approved a resolution recognizing the Russian regime as terrorist. The resolution states that “it strongly condemns Russian aggression and calls on all countries that support peace, democracy and human rights to recognize the authorities of the Russian Federation as a terrorist regime.”
The senators also recalled that on February 24, 2022, the armed forces of the Russian Federation unleashed a brutal war on Ukraine, “wanting to wipe this sovereign country from the map and destroy its nation.” Senators noted that Russian invaders were terrorizing the inhabitants of Ukrainian cities by bombing civilian targets: “Bandits in Russian uniform torture and murder prisoners of war and civilians in the occupied territories. They kidnap Ukrainian children to raise them as regime Janissaries.” The resolution was adopted unanimously by 85 votes.
Russian forces prevent the evacuation of Ukrainians from temporarily occupied territories. According to the Mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, the Russian occupation authorities continue to hold the population of Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Luhansk and Donetsk regions hostage. “Yesterday, the Russians released a total of 94 people from the occupied parts of 4 regions of Ukraine to Zaporizhzhia––33 of them are residents of Melitopol and the district,” Fedorov said. According to Fedorov, every day thousands of people want to leave the occupied area and escape to territory controlled by Ukraine. “If people are not released now, it will be much more difficult for them to leave later," he said.
During the day, the Russian army shelled 13 settlements in the Donetsk region, and the National Police of Ukraine documented 28 strikes. Eastern Ukraine suffers from Russian attacks every day. According to the police, as a result of today's attack, 11 civilian objects were destroyed and damaged. Russian forces hit Bakhmut four times. “One of the strikes, which happened around 9 a.m., took the life of one civilian. Private houses and infrastructure facilities were damaged,” the National Police reported.
