Manchester City have announced the transfer of Xia Emmanuel Charles to Southampton, in an official statement issued today, Wednesday. Shea signed a four-year contract with Southampton, the second deal for the English club after the inclusion of Ryan Manning. The 19-year-old started his career at Manchester City's academy, signing his first professional contract with City in July 2021. Shea made his debut with the first team under the leadership of Pep Guardiola in the 2022/23 season, against Brentford, and with the youth team, Shea participated in 26 league matches. "I feel the way the manager plays will really suit me and obviously some of the players I know (from City) did well here last season in the Premier League," Shea Charles said. He added, "I feel that the main thing is promotion for this club, because we belong to the English Premier League. I can't wait to start the pre-season and get into the championship matches."
