PROFILE • Skilled optical design engineer with 10 years of industry experience in optical systems design, imaging, optical metrology, optical alignment, optical drawings, thin film coating and optical assembly. • Passionate researcher with 10+ years of graduate and under graduate academic experience in electrical and electronics engineering. EXPERIENCE • Designed, prototyped, tested and go into mass production up to 10 different visible gun sights including riflescopes, magnifiers (with prism), reflex sights, holographic sights and collimator optics, lighter and shorter than competitors in the market, with no aspheric optics. • Designed a dual band infra-red search and track system for airborne, operating at MWIR and SWIR, with low F# to meet the range specs and multiple FOV from 5 – 30 degrees. • Designed up to 3 different, passive and active athermalized, fixed and zoom, thermal imaging objectives, operating at LWIR and MWIR. • Designed, prototyped and tested Continuous Zoom Visible Objective, FOV: 1.8-40 degree, EFL: 16.9mm-358mm, F/#: 6.5, MTF (on-axis) >0.55, MTF (off-axis) >0.30. Work included aberration control, optimization and tolerance analysis (sensitivity analysis, Monte-Carlo Analysis for 98% yield). • Designed a monochromatic HUD for fighter jet with eye box of 176 mm, F/1, full square field of view of 14.25o, achieved distortion less than 3%. Sep 2015 – 2018 Researcher | TOBB ETU Nanophotonics Research Lab, Ankara, Turkey • Collaborative research with Prof. Kurt's lab on meta-surfaces-based optical systems and contributed up to 8 international conference talks on photonic research area. • R&D related to analysis, design and fabrication of metasurfaces-based micro-optics. • Optical device design (Lumerical FDTD) with efficient metasurface lens arrays for fill-factor and sensitivity improvement of MWIR FPAs. • Designed and analyzed subwavelength grating structures, ultra-thin camera lenses, compact focusing flat zoom lenses, metalens arrays.
