Jeff performed all of the setup, modification and deployment of our redesigned e-commerce website. Along with the site redesign, Jeff also performed a complete overhaul of the interfaces with our backend systems. His dedication to the project was first-rate, meeting every one of our functionality, budget and timeline objectives. Jeff was quick to grasp our business requirements and offered straight-forward solutions to complex problems.
We began with a source code version of an off-the-shelf application, ASPDotNetStoreFront (ASPDNSF). Our business requirements necessitated a fairly extensive amount of customization to this ASP.NET 2.0 platform and the SQL Server 2000 database. Jeff developed and coded a completely custom catalog navigation structure, developed and coded product comparison charts, modified code to add customized shipping logic, substantially modified a standard XML package for custom display of our product information, enabled the site for web analytics tracking, made the necessary changes to the database, and performed numerous other source code fixes and enhancements. He also implemented the ISAPI Rewrite utility to direct visitors using URL's from our old site to the correct pages on the new one.
Along the way, Jeff installed Visual Studio.NET 2005, Visual SourceSafe 2005, and Red-Gate SQL Compare in our local environment to manage the project code and data. He also trained our in-house staff on the use of these tools.
For the backend interfaces, Jeff developed and implemented solutions using Microsoft Messaging Queue MSMQ. Jeff also built the conversion utilities necessary for our data conversion, including a utility to copy, rename and reorganize our entire library of product image files.
We couldn't be happier with Jeff and his work. His well-rounded skill set provided us with everything we needed for this project. We found Jeff to be easy to work with, eager to solve problems and very efficient with his time.
