I have experience writing patent applications. Typically, you are an attorney and have developed the Claims and Diagrams. From these, I would develop the Field of art, Background (leaving the inspector "wanting more", Summary (I write the first 2-3 sentences and you complete this section), Brief Description of the Drawings, Detailed Description (the bulk of the writing effort) Claims (a repeat of what you provide) and Abstract. I'd be competent writing patent applications for business processes, software, telecommunications, and other inventions where a technical degree is not required (eg., electrical engineering, chemistry, etc.)
