I always wanted to be a writer. I got an education to be a writer. Eventually, I got to the point where when people would ask me, "what exactly do you do?" I realized that despite working for a large police department, I actually write for a living. I have been very fortunate to have an amazing variety of experiences in my career and past jobs as well as a very unique upbringing. Prior to my 25 year career in law enforcement as a civilian employee, I also enjoyed four years working at a credit union and five years in retail. My words have protected, convicted and persuaded over the years. My writing has influenced and informed people who you have seen in congressional hearings and in press conferences at times of crisis.
