Phang Nga Bay in southern Thailand, is one of the largest and best preserved mangrove forests in the country. Mangroves can filter saltwater and withstand strong coastal storms. Which is why they are protectors of the coastlines, acting as a buffer against storms and floods.
Limestone cliffs with caves, collapsed cave systems, and archaeological sites are found about Phang Nga Bay. Around 10,000 years ago, when sea levels were lower, it was possible to walk from Phuket and Krabi.
