Since PHP 5.1 I have developed dynamic websites, upgraded sites to PHP 7, converted code to OOP, etc based on LAMP and WAMP platforms. Many clients have legacy websites based in older PHP 5.XX technology, specifically those that bought PHP "compilers" to make their sites faster and more secure, only to find out the "compilers" were PHP version specific. Often the "compiler" companies would go out of business. I have recovered sites by recreating source code allowing the sites to function without the "compiled" code.
