Alec Steinhorn is a classically trained pianist and composer with a degree in music and theatre from Northwestern University. He is proficient in classical, jazz, and pop technique and has professional experience composing, arranging, accompanying and touring. He has taught lessons for eight years to students of all ages, experience levels, and — in this new period of virtual instruction — time zones!
Lessons will focus on building technique and sightreading skills, as well as developing an understanding of music theory. Curriculum will be personalized to the student, potentially touching on classical, jazz or pop rep, ear training, improvisation or speed-sightreading. Whether you’re a singer looking to practice more self-sufficiently, a trained pianist looking to improve technique, or have never played a note in your darn life, consider signing up for lessons!
