I have been working in the field of energy and power system planning for more than 15 years engaging in the preparation and survey of many national and regional studies in cooperation with international and regional organizations like IAEA, IEA, World Bank, EBRD, IRENA and EAPP. Parallel to this, I have acquired my Master and PhD degrees in the field of power system planning from Ain shams University; one of the most known and respected universities in Egypt. My working field covers many topics such as energy economics, techno-economic evaluation of power generation projects, energy demand forecasting, renewable energies, nuclear power, thermal generation, power system flexibility, power system reliability, energy storage, hydrogen, economic dispatch, unit commitment…etc.
I am well trained to use a variety of well-known planning models such as EPRI’ EGEAS model, IAEA, MESSAGE model, PSR model, Balmorel model, MARKAL/TIMES model and Eviews mode. In addition, I have also developed many tools using MATLAB programing.
