I have prepared PowerPoint presentations for both my own work and for others. My approach is visually sophisticated with simplicity in content assisted by appropriate and applicable images if required (definitely no 'clipart'). Too 'wordy' a presentation is detrimental to the overall presentation and so each slide must capture very succinctly the presenter's message. This is his / her prompt for the discourse of that slide (printed slide notes assist the discourse) and also guards against the trainees / audience getting too involved in the slide itself whilst missing the presenter's discourse.
