One of my favorite projects was for a manufacturer of live steam amusement park locomotives. I learned a tremendous amount about the construction of these locomotives as I produced a business plan; a tutorial and assembly manual that incorporated reduced-size CAD drawings to encourage those with no experience to become involved in the hobby; a three-fold color sales brochure; policies and procedures for employees; a quality assurance manual that conformed to ASME standards for boiler construction; and a series of maintenance manuals to cover locomotive maintenance. The most important part of this project I produced was a resume that introduced both the owner and his company to some very large firms and which resulted in several multi-million dollar projects.
