I specialize in copyediting fiction manuscripts and will work with anyone wanting their work edited professionally. I also offer developmental editing and proofreading. It doesn't matter if it's a full-length book, short story, or flash fiction. However, I will not work on non-fiction, resumes, blog articles, etc., so if it’s not fiction, please don’t ask. 1. Check your document for obvious errors and formatting problems. 2. Read it through your manuscript and make notes on your writing style. I will also note structure issues, places your story loses focus, missing information, unanswered questions, and inconsistencies. For those that write historical fiction, I will also fact-check dates, names, places, etc. at this point. 3. Check for spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors while maintaining your personal voice and style. I will also trim wordiness and remove redundancies as part of this last step. Editing time on average is one hour for every thousand words. This is only an estimate. Each manuscript is different, and as such it could be more or less depending on the amount of work needed.
