My background is in mathematics and informatics and I have more than 10 years experience in software development. I have been involved in various projects, mostly in large international collaborations with both academic and commercial partners. As a member of the OGSA-DAI team, a large open source project, I was developing an open source software platform that provides access to databases via web services. As part of a distributed query processing platform based on OGSA-DAI I developed an SQL parser and the execution engine for processing queries across multiple databases. As part of a large European project I designed and created a distributed workflow engine that processes dataflow graphs described in a domain specific language and executes them in a distributed environment by submitting jobs to remote workflow engines. I implemented an iPhone and Android app that allows users of the UK national super computing service to monitor their jobs.
