Extended and enhanced aging Paradox application supporting annual financial appropriation process for major state-wide health care agency. Project required essential reengineering and refactoring of entire process to meet legislated changes of both state and Federal (ACA) law. Entered ongoing project with six weeks remaining on existing hard deadlines, delivered working product on time with zero defects. Developed large conversion platform to move 1M+ inventory from IMS into customer-facing web-based system. Paradox used for initial ETL phase, data fed into Oracle schema for AI cleanse stage, then accessed via Visual Basic for further maintenance (final system also used Oracle data in real time). Project required learning Oracle, Silver Creek (AI), work with SMEs, training tech staff in operation of final multi-stage conversion process. Completed installation and upgrade on POS system for large Texas employer. Client/server environment, Paradox/SQL Server. Developed significant code for access, reporting, and systems management functions. Trained user staff on details of Paradox and system functions. When engagement began, system was installed but inoperable, local staff was unable to resolve problems; vendor quit business during engagement. Delivered working, stable, accurate product on predefined local schedule. Used Paradox, Access, SQL Server to deliver necessary results. Became emergency support and maintenance source for large, heavily-customized inventory management system, Paradox over SQL Server. Over a half million lines of code involved, able to begin significant modifications to the system within two weeks.
