My name is Regina Pauly, and I am a recent graduate of Iowa State University. I graduated summa cum laude and top of my class with a B.A. in English Education, a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in American Indian Studies, and a license to teach English at the secondary level. I also have a deep love of English and love of helping others navigate the world of reading, writing, and creating. I have over five years of experience and education in various forms of writing including creative writing, academic writing, persuasive writing, business writing, and many more. Not only have I worked in the field of English and writing, but I have worked in the field of teaching English and writing as well. I have four years of experience teaching all aspects of the English language to students ranging from 12 years old to 23 years old. This instructional experience includes teaching grammar, writing, analysis, reading, and public speaking. During my four years of teaching, I have become an expert at editing and proofreading a range of writing in an efficient amount of time; when you have more than 100 essays to grade within a weekend, you become well versed in completing great work quickly. I have also worked at the collegiate level as a teaching assistant where I conducted lectures, assigned projects, and graded a multitude of essays. Outside of the classroom, my role as a teaching assistant also included in-depth research over particular cultural, agricultural, and linguistic aspects of American Indian Studies. This research provided necessary and beneficial information to Iowa State University to advance multiple departments within the Liberal Arts College. I am currently working as an editor and proofreader for the Iowa Chapter of Women's March on Washington. With this job, I receive chapter-wide newsletters, emails, and announcements to edit, proofread, and enhance before they are sent out to the thousands of chapter members. I am lucky to be able to work for this organization because of the subject matter but also because the work allows me to determine my own schedule and complete outside freelance projects. Additionally, I have multiple strengths outside of my educational experience and work experience. Not only am I an efficient writer, editor, and proofreader, but I am extremely detail oriented and produce excellent work. I also pride myself on my organizational skills, which are crucial as a teacher dealing with dozens of students and their work on a daily basis. Furthermore, I am technologically competent in various programs that help complete editing and proofreading work in a timelier manner. While I have experience as an English teacher, I am also a lifelong learner. Each day I am continuing to read and write not just because I love to do so but also so that I may keep my skills sharp. By keeping my skills sharp, I can then help others enhance their own skills and writing.
