This is another term for 'light copy editing', and is appropriate if you are confident of the flow and sentence structure of your work, and are merely seeking review of elements such as grammar, punctuation, and spelling. In the publishing industry, 'proofreading' is the final review of a manuscript after the publisher's designer has completed layout and before the manuscript is printed. The proofreader reads the proofs of the manuscript to ensure that no changes have been introduced during the design process.)
