1 How do you ensure accuracy when checking for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and other errors?
“When I proofread, accuracy is my top priority. I always start by reading through the text several times to make sure I’m familiar with it and can spot any errors quickly. I also use a variety of tools to help me find mistakes, such as spellcheckers, grammar checkers, dictionaries, and style guides. Once I’ve identified potential errors, I double-check them against the original source material to make sure they’re accurate. Finally, I review the entire document one last time before submitting it for approval.”
2 What is your experience with copyediting and proofreading?
“I have a degree in English and I’ve been working as a professional proofreader for the past five years. During that time, I’ve worked on a variety of projects from long-form documents to short blog posts. My approach is always to read through the material multiple times, making sure I catch any typos or grammatical errors. Additionally, I use software tools such as Grammarly and ProWritingAid to help me identify potential issues quickly and efficiently. Overall, my goal is to ensure that all copy is accurate and error-free before it goes out.”

“I recently had to proofread and edit a large document with a tight deadline of 48 hours. To ensure I could get the job done on time, I broke down the project into smaller tasks and prioritized them based on urgency. For example, I focused first on checking for any spelling or grammar mistakes, then moved onto fact-checking and cross-referencing sources. Finally, I double-checked my work before submitting it. I was able to complete the project in 36 hours and the client was very pleased with the end product.”
