Grammar knowledge which includes understanding and applying grammar rules accurately to identify and correct mistakes. Spelling Proficiency specifies recognizing and correcting misspelled words. This means that when writing a text it is of critical importance to understand and correctly apply the rules and conventions that govern the structure and composition of sentences.
Punctuation accuracy ensures proper use of punctuation marks. Consistency checking includes maintaining uniformity in style, format, and usage throughout the text or document. Critical thinking which takes into account evaluating the text logically to ensure clarity and coherence.
Computer Literacy includes using digital tools and software (e.g., word processors, spell checkers) to assist in the proofreading process. Language Proficiency is first and foremost about having a strong command of the language in which the text is written.
Subject matter familiarity is about fundamentally understanding the content's topic to ensure accuracy and relevance. Communication ensures you are providing clear and constructive feedback to authors or editors.
