DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (CNN) -- A guard at the Embassy in the French capital was killed Monday morning in a "heinous and unjustified crime," the Qatar Embassy in Paris said.
Immediately after the crime, French authorities arrested the suspect and launched investigations, the embassy said in a tweet through its official Twitter account.
The embassy said it was awaiting the results of the investigation, calling for "respect for the privacy of the family of the deceased" and expressing feelings of sadness and sorrow over the crime.
