The world is about to get a new Queen song — with Freddie Mercury.

Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor told BBC 2 in an interview that they will be releasing a song called “Face It Alone” featuring the late legendary vocalist in September.

“We did find a little gem from Freddie, that we’d kind of forgotten about and it was — It’s wonderful. Actually, it was real discovery,” Taylor, 72, said.

The song is from the sessions for Queen’s 13th studio album “The Miracle,” which was released in 1989. Mercury died two years later at 45 from AIDS-related complications.

May, 74, revealed that the song was “kind of hiding in plain sight,” but they couldn’t rescue the track in its previous state. Queen’s engineering team made some slight tweaking and was able to bring it back to life.

“We looked at it many times and thought, ‘Oh no, we can’t really rescue that.’ But in fact, we went in there again and our wonderful engineering team went, ‘Okay, we can do this and this.’ It’s like kind of stitching bits together,” May said. “It’s beautiful, it’s touching.”

“It’s a very passionate piece,” Taylor added.

Queen has released many previously unreleased tracks featuring Mercury since his death. “Queen Forever,” released in 2014, is a compilation album featuring tracks with the late Mercury’s vocals. The late singer was also partially featured on Queen’s 1995 final studio album “Made in Heaven,” which was recorded both before and after his death.

Adam Lambert has been performing lead vocals for Queen since 2011, and most recently played with the band at Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee where they performed some of their biggest hits, including “Don’t Stop Me Now.”
