I have always had a curiosity for all aspects of science that led to my pursuit and obtaining a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology. By accepting the Science Writer position at ORNL with Betty Mansfield, I was able to explore my passion for science and promoting the core research missions of the Department of Energy. I was given the freedom to develop different ideas for promoting current research discoveries for all audience levels. These ideas included researching ways to provide real-time metrics for program websites as well as developing an activity workbook for high school and undergraduate students to make scientific databases and software more accessible with the overall theme that anyone can be an investigator.
