Working for a hedge fund that invests in Indian equities has given me a deep understanding of what investors look for in companies, as well as understanding the characteristics of a strong organization with a good growth trajectory. In the process I also learnt a lot about various methods of market penetration under different regulatory and competitive environments across industries.I have worked extensively in the financial sales and marketing industry in India and understand the key aspects to driving sales forward. As the main revenue generating unit of any business, the sales team will always be under pressure but how one deals with potential and existing clients helps determine not only the outcome of current efforts but also has a large impact on future growth of the company. Relationship building is important in any business but critical in a start up.
