BACKGROUND
Mihindu Keerthiratne Associates founded in 1976 by a collective of architects with the goal of finding design solutions that hold social and environmental responsibility at its core. MKA specializes in building design and project management, MEP design, Structural design, QS services, wastewater recycling and regenerative landscaping, in addition to ecological interior and furniture design.
PHILOSOPHY
We at MKA consider Innovative Architecture as the key in achieving successful built environment. MKA practices sustainable design in accordance with ‘green building concepts and energy conservation methods. As a practice, MKA adheres to higher level of ethical principles and administer all our projects to the highest professional standards, while achieving design and programmatic objectives, including budgetary objectives. MKA dissociate ourselves from all other direct and indirect interests within the construction industry and are thus able to provide services to the client without obligation to any outside concern.
STAFF
Our company is consisting of a group of passionate young consultants working under the guidance of highly professional and well-experience senior staff members. The company has sub sections for different field, namely Architectural, Engineering and Quantity Surveying, within the same premises. Well qualified staff in different fields allow our company to perform collaborative work and handle large scale projects with a higher efficiency.
The company staff is consisting of dedicated supportive staff, such as auto CAD technicians specialized in plumbing, electrical, mechanical works, and structural work, which allows a smooth communication and coordination among different consultants and related supportive staff.
All staff members, including supportive staff have a proficiency in English. Most of the staff members have the experience of working collaboratively with both in-house and outsourced consultants, as well as in both local and international projects.
OTHER RESOURCES
MKA is maintaining both software and hardware libraries consisting of specific technical information, product details and working templates and material samples, allowing efficient project handling.
The company has a modern computer system, which interconnects two servers with 25 workstations, through a local area network. A File Server + exchange server, Mail server and a Printer server is placed in the server room and share printers, Plotters, photocopiers, project files and software libraries among all the staff members, allowing a collaborative working environment.
A Network-attached storage system (NAS) is dedicated for file storage that enables multiple users / client devices, to retrieve data and work from centralized disk capacity. Project files will be backed-up automatically through the system, safeguarding the protection of project related documents.
