I am a specialist in providing advice and assistance for clients looking towards the development of processes, documentation and content, advice on the development, implementation and the monitoring of safety management systems.
In a number of previous roles, I was responsible for monitoring contractor occupational health and safety requirements on offshore exploration projects for oil major clients for the verification and assessment of EHS schedules and agreed programmes.
I have worked for one of the UK's largest occupational health and safety service providers undertaking safety management pre-assessment and 5-Star audits in the UK, India, Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia.
I have authored two books on safety management, one aimed at developing safety management system for small to medium enterprises [Quick Win Safety Management, ISBN 978-1-904887-41-6] and a second, on industrial accidents, their causes and how to possibly learn from these failures [Success from Failure: Learning from Industrial Accidents and Disasters, ISBN : 199-9-949986].
I have continued to improve my qualifications, recently completing a Masters Degree (M.Sc.) at one of Irelands top universities (Trinity College, Dublin) in System Change and Managing Risk which has allowed me to combine newly acquired academic skills and knowledge with extensive real-world safety management experience. I am a chartered member of the UK Institution of Occupational Safety and Health and I have a Diploma in Safety Management from the British Safety Council (DipSM).

- Content - development and review of procedures, work instructions, policy statements or advice on any specialist EHS areas required.
- Audit and gap analysis - remote examination of safety management documentation against predefined standards (e.g. ISO 45001) and reporting on where identified gaps exits.
