I should have been born a computer, 'cause I really don't have a lot of desire to get out in the world. I prefer sitting in my little cave, typing and clicking away.My first experience with a computer was in 1974 and it was took up a floor of the Science Tower at the Florida Institute of Technology. I started there as a freshman, recording readings from non-variable stars in different spectra (by hand) for a Department of Defense contract (still ongoing) to detect atmospheric changes. This data was input in a card puncher, fed to the mainframe, and also posted to the ARPANet. Wow, that makes me feel old. But it also means I can do about anything having to do with computers and the Internet.
