I've been translating for over 5 years, officially self-employed for more than a year. My translating speed is between 250-600 words/hour and 2,000-5,000 words/day with 8 hours/day; speed is based on the complexity of the source materials (user manuals are faster, legal texts are slower to translate). Extra info: - in the past 6 months I've translated cca. 260,000 words = 1,550,000 characters, - unfortunately I can't post lots of works in my portfolio due to copyright issues.
