I started in the finance industry in a non-tech related role and because I was very interested in helping with providing better reports and streamlining workflows I was promoted several times and eventually moved into a position solely focused on application development and support. I have been working with MS Access (2003,2010,2013,2016) and VBA since 2006 working in the finance industry. I was the senior developer on the team and was most often put on new application builds, because I have an open source mindset and like to create applications that are easy to support and extend. During that time I have worked on the types of projects below: - Creating applications that automatically generate documents Due to the fact I started developing applications in order to streamline work, I like to work as directly as possible with impacted individuals so that I can assess the best avenue to take in design. This isn't always necessary if you have something simple in mind, but it is beneficial if you do not know what is possible. I do my best to exceed baseline requirements. My interest in software does extend beyond VBA/Office products, though that is what I know best. I have experience creating home projects in IronPython and Python, and pick up programming languages and APIs quickly so long as documentation is available online or is provided.
