SIX NEW TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITIES EGY.

$5/hr Starting at $25

Six new institutions of technology are being built around the country, including New Cairo University for Technology, Beni Suef University for Technology, and Delta Technology University.

Last August, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research indicated that 12 to 15 new universities will be established in 2022. These include new technological universities that tackle fields like artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things, as well as branches of foreign universities from the UK and the USA at the New Administrative Capital.

At least four of these local tech schools - namely King Salman International University, El Galala University, El Alamein International University, and New Mansoura University - will have 200 scholarships available to students through the Ministry of Education in the hopes of elevating Egypt's labour force with an advanced tech-focused skill set.

Additionally, the Egyptian government has been encouraging the construction of local branches of foreign institutions, in order to provide international education within the country. As part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s plan to support and strengthen international partnerships with prestigious universities at the international level, the minister visited University College London (UCL) to discuss ways to improve cooperation between the university and a number of Egyptian universities. The Ministry hopes to attract 200,000 students from overseas by 2030.
