I am a freelance software developer, tinkerer, artist, and entrepreneur based in Seattle, WA. The simple pleasure of seeing a new part or a new line of code fall in to place has motivated me to build things for more than 20 years. A few of my favorites over the years:- As a research scientist at the Biophotonics Research Lab at the University of Washington, I built a custom suite of realtime instrument control, data acquisition, and image processing software for conducting experiments with high speed noninvasive optical imaging. - In my living room, I invented shio (www.studioshio.com), a sculptural technique exploiting the self-organizing properties of mineral crystalization growth to create stunning fractal forms which I light from within. I ran a successful kickstarter campaign earlier this summer to grow the first generation for commercial sale. - As the second full-time member of Epidemiological Modeling group at Intellectual Ventures Laboratory, I developed the entire tool suite
