My name is Lindsey Dempsey and I have over 10 years of experience in marketing strategy, social media management, event planning and PR. I am a writer, an out-of-the-box thinker, a creative event planner, and connecter of businesses with their desired consumer base through compelling social media ideas. During my career at Yelp as the Senior Marketing and Community Director, I grew the Phoenix community to become one of top 10 largest Yelp markets in the world. As the only Marketing employee in charge of the Phoenix market and the “face of Yelp," I helped business owners increase their brand awareness with the local tastemakers and most active reviewers and I increased Yelp's brand through social media and marketing strategies. As the head of Marketing for Yelp Phoenix and the only marketing employee for the area, I solely grew the Yelp Phoenix Twitter handle from 500 to 12,500 and the Weekly Yelp newsletter from 30,000 to 500,000, just to name a few outlets. I did so by creating creating content and engaging with the targeted consumer base of the areas most active and vocal tastemakers and influencers. As a blogger myself, I have over 1,000 Yelp reviews. I spent five years meeting with businesses on a daily basis and created campaigns for them to successfully connect them with the group of local bloggers who love to write about their experiences and post on social media.
