I have extensive experience in Software Development, Process Engineering and Quality Engineering. As a software developer I worked predominantly with C/C++ in a Microsoft Environment. I also have fair exposure to Intel CPU and numerical processor assembly language. Over the course of 18 years I developed at least 4 major (and majorly successful) commercial software products, often as the sole developer, and usually encompassing all aspects of the system, i.e. architecture, database, code, communication channels - as well as developing the functional requirements of those products through liaison with clients at user and executive level. During that time, I also frequently travelled to the UK in order to implement and maintain some of those systems. I also have substantial experience as a Process Engineer in an Optical Fibre manufacturing facility, where I participated in technology transfer programs with companies in the UK on site, and where I was heavily involved in the development of 2 innovative processes, one of which had a project cost of about 30 million Rand at current value and increased the capacity of the plant by 200%. I have extensive experience in the analyses and application of statistics to industrial processes, and during my time at an Armscor (Denel) subsidiary as a quality engineer I also liaised with project managers, design engineers and subcontractors with regard to design reviews and in order to implement quality plans. During this time I also maintained and developed aspects of a company-wide Quality Information System. I have good communication skills and excellent writing skills.
