An enthusiastic individual who is passionate about upcoming technologies, including methods to implement them into current projects. The need to be constantly evolving with new breakthroughs is vital, to stay relevant in today’s competitive global society. IBM Hursley Laboratories – Software Development Consultant – (2016 – Present) Placed at the Client Innovation Centre, which values itself as a start-up division within IBM, current project is the Product Transformation Centre. Converting acquired businesses into IBM property based on branding, updates, UI, documentation and websites. Working in an agile environment as a software analyst mainly on the Truven Health Analytics project. Due to experience with web apps, a request came through for a considerable update to a tool used within PTC called the image scanner. • Previous version of this tool required the end user to scan all the images, then manually enter comments to change the state from Executable to Source for example. • Main issue was the scan can sometimes pick up thousands of images, icons or fonts etc. • Quite often a majority of the images will have similar attributes meaning a bulk update tool would save a vast amount of time. • Whilst agile pair programming, delivery of this project was achieved with immense success from idea conception, user research, product development to release. • Given autonomy, this project was a steep learning experience and found programming as a pair extremely beneficial, I now prefer this to standard development experiences. • Every product is a prototype and improvements can always be made, regular updates made in sprints to increase usability.
