I write software user manuals using a mixture of Task Oriented as well as Screen Oriented approach.

To ensure that we follow consistent formats and styles (both for formatting as well as writing style), I will first write a Document Format & Style Guide (DFSG) and have it approved by you.

Then, I will write the User Manuals conforming to the DFSG and have it reviewed and approved by you.

After we complete the User Manual Documentation, I will write a User Guide Maintenance Instruction Document (UGMID) which will ensure that anyone other than me can also update the User Guides that I write for you.

Both the DFSG and UGMID will enable us to ensure that we remove person dependency from the User Manual Documentation altogether.
