Hello to all you music artist in the world my name is ANTHONY DECKARD. I am a independent music producer since 1990. I started my music career in 1987 as a hip hop artist I wrote and produced my first album in 1989 14 songs on the album my name as a hip hop artist was AD the letters of my first name and last name I recorded the entire album on a VESTAX 6 track recorder with a ROLAND TR 626 DRUM MACHINE and a ROLAND JUNO 60 KEYBOARD also a CASIO KEYBOARD and a SAMSON microphone. I was 19 years old I bought all my equipment from the pawn shop and when I finished the album I tried to get a deal with PRIORITY RECORDS in LA I went there and met with a guy name David Weiner in 1989 I gave him a cassette copy of my album he gave me his business card and I contacted him once a week for 2 months but I didn't get a deal. I was young and I didn't know the business back then that you have to sale your music yourself perform locally at different places and build a fanbase yourself. in 1990 I got more interested in making beats there were a lot of hit instrumental songs in the 80s and 90s the group ART OF NOISE had 3 hit instrumental songs in the 80s BEAT BOX / CLOSE TO THE EDIT/ and MOMENTS IN LOVE/ HERBIE HANCOCK hit instrumental song ROCKIT and HAROLD FALTERMYER hit song AXEL F each of the songs sold millions of copies and I focused on being a instrumental music artist and a record producer but I didn't quit writing songs I still write songs now sometimes I will create a beat and start writing a song to it that happens every now and then when I'm making music I am a good song writer just give me a topic of what you want the song to be about and I will get it done and I hope to do business with you thank you very much and good luck with your music career
