At this point in my life, I am a teacher. I teach high school Language Arts. My expertise in a writing curriculum that I wrote and that was accepted by my district. Before that, I worked as a substitute teacher in Riverside. This job has taught me how to be patient and to work with kids on their on level. It has also taught me that my skills as a writer are invaluable in teaching children how to form and write an opinion. From 1999-2001, I worked a freelance writer and photographer in Guatemala, taught at a bilingual education school, and ran a hostel. I learned Spanish, classroom management and did some interesting pieces for The Guatemala Post that included both pictures and writing. One of my photos was published on the cover of the local magazine, The Vue. From 1989-1999, I worked for the Los Angeles Times as a copy-editor, freelance writer, and graphic designer. I worked on TV Times magazine and was the first person to finish a paginated page in the daily. It was the TV page. I wr
