About 46 cars and trucks collided on a highway in the US state of Ohio, due to a snow storm that struck the northern US state
The American “Fox” network said, quoting the authorities, that the accident that occurred on the “Ohio Turnpike” road, on Friday afternoon, resulted in the death of 3 people, in addition to many injuries.
The Ohio Highway Patrol said a number of neighboring counties were involved in the rescue operations. The people who were involved in the massive accident were taken to a local facility to be warmed up, according to Sky News Arabia.
For their part, the authorities confirmed that "weather was a factor in the accident" and advised people to avoid travel, as snowfall can significantly reduce visibility.
In turn, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine expressed his sympathy for the families who lost a loved one during the inclement weather.
DeWine said in a statement that at least 4 Ohioans have died in weather-related auto accidents since the storm began.
