Story Analysis for Fiction and Film

I am a highly experienced story consultant for fiction and film. For ten years, I evaluated work for film studios and production companies, including TriStar Pictures, ITC Productions, Viacom, Showtime, Interscope, and Zoetrope. I have since evaluated screenplays for the Marin Arts Council Screenwriting Grants and the Kenneth Rainin Foundation Grants through the San Francisco Film Society, the Slamdance and Zoetrope Screenwriting Contests, and many individual clients. Screenwriters I have worked with have won or placed in the Nicholls, Zoetrope, and Slamdance Screenwriting Contests, been chosen for the Sundance Workshops and Film Independent's Screenwriting Lab, presented films at Cannes, Sundance, the Independent Film Market, and the Berlinale, been nominated for and won the Kenneth Rainin Screenwriting Award and the Golden Gate Award, and sold or produced screenplays in the United States, Canada, and Germany. I have also evaluated fiction for Zoetrope All-Story magazine and for the Zoetrope: All-Story Short Fiction Contest, for writers in the Writing & Consciousness MA/MFA program at New College of California, and for private clients. One former student is now a successful YA author. I have recently branched out to evaluate plays and experimental theater productions as well as the text for a musical.
