Scorecards are very powerful tools for strategy implementation. Too many won't work because they are poorly constructed. It takes real skill to capture the essence of the business strategy in a scorecard structure and very few people have the creativity and translation skills to do it right. Most scorecards end up as a list of Key Performance Indicators.
