Having worked in a Museum for 12 years, I learned the art of taxidermy for birds, small mammals and medium-sized mammals. I can perform the following tasks satisfactorily: 1. Skin small medium and large mammals 2. Treat the skin with salt or by pickling in acid 3. Prepare an armature or mannequin in readiness for mounting the skin 4. Mount the skin and stuff with a variety of materials for small mammals and birds, or mount skin on a mannequin for medium to large mammals 5. Repair damaged taxidermy objects. 6. Mount complete skeletons with wire or steel as dictated by size and weight.
