One of my greatest strengths is the diversity of audiences for which I can write. During my work in the private sector, and my teaching career, I have developed the following skills: **do in depth reviews of research & literature in a wide range of fields; **learn each field’s specific terminology, underlying concepts, presuppositions, standards and perspective; **use that knowledge to summarize and “translate” or rewrite both research design and subsequent analysis into language appropriate for a wide range of lay audiences; **write for both professional and lay persons involved in policy making and service delivery in fields including education, special education, elderly nutrition, traffic safety, energy conservation, health programs, and various government entities; **summarize educational evidence and instructional strategies for teachers studying for licensure tests; **design practice test questions and sample answers for license testing; **edit scholarly articles for spelling, grammar, and expression, and rewrite as needed; **revise articles, lessons, and textbook text, by simplifying the language, adding diagrams or illustrations, changing the formatting, in short whatever is necessary to make it work for the reader; **work online with multiple copies of a document, including multiple edits and changes, evaluating previous edits and versions and finalizing the document. **I am creative and resourceful in finding ways to make material clear to a specific audience, and I have the research, psychological and educational training to determine exactly how to communicate with the target audience.
