I have working in Technical field more than 20 years and I am do the job as follows, 1.Study the isometric and P&ID.drawing and find out the material description i.e,size,quantity and measurement with making in PDF.file (for mailing purpose) as technical specification of Piping and structural engineering 2. Reckoning by computing element and Reconciliation statement for material, estimate and invoice.
