I am seeking any kind of role in the Textile Design and Fashion Design industry where knowledge and expertise of basic design and aesthetics may be applied. I was very keen when I saw the ad for Designer role and would like to express my interest by submitting this cover letter and resume. Over the past few years I’ve worked as a designer and product manager that taught me many secrets of the trade. I have worked in the product development department dealing with offshore clients. My language proficiency with English/Urdu/Hindi gives me an advantage to work with offshore clients effortlessly. Dealing with offshore suppliers regarding samples, orders and work in progress was my one of my main job. I also handled the costing of garments and sampling using different fabrics and trims. I was responsible to report to my head of design about our customers and their relative orders. We were dealing with the Textiles and Fashion of worlds most top most business such as LEVIS (denim), WALMART, and TARGET, HNM BERSHKA etc. I also have worked on researching seasonal print and fashion trends (Mood boards/ hand sketches etc.) During my International work exposure in San Francisco, It gave me a lot of understanding on Apparel and I learnt massively on how to design for garments in a given time because of the two Fashion shows we did in San Mateo. I have experience in carrying out projects with team and also solely managing the design team and report to the head designers during my work experience when designing for Women’s Apparel. Moreover working along side the famous Australian designer NICOLA FINETTI gave me a lot of insight on the fashion market. All the above has helped provide me with the training and skills needed to fill this position and become a value member of your team.
