Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani wants to acquire English club Liverpool after Reds owner Fenway Group offered it for sale 12 years after buying it.
British media said the club's owners wanted to sell Liverpool for 5 billion euros, with the Indian billionaire, the eighth richest person in the world, according to Forbes magazine, wanting to acquire the English club.
Ambani's fortune is estimated at £90bn; he also has investments in sport, owning the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Professional Cricket League.
The US Reds owner Fenway Group acquired ownership of Liverpool in 2010 for between $300 million and $400 million, according to estimates of the R eds.
