The funeral procession of Queen Elizabet

The official in charge of the royal jewels removed the crown, royal ball, and sceptre from the top of the sarcophagus, separating the queen from her crown for the last time.

After the last hymn was sung, King Charles III placed the flag of the Grenadier Guards on the Queen's coffin. The Grenadier guards are the largest of the foot guards who perform ceremonial duties for the King.

The queen's body was lowered to the royal vault, while the royal bagpiper played a funeral solo.

The funeral service concluded with the playing of the national anthem.

Three of the most important priests of Queen Elizabeth II's churches said prayers for her soul: the priest of Sandringham in eastern Britain, the priest of Crathe Kirk - the church next to Balmoral Castle - as well as the chapel of the royal chapel in Windsorgret Park.The same prayers were recited at the funerals of the Queen's grandparents, King George V in 1936, Queen Mary in 1953, and her father, King George VI in 1952.
